Have a new business idea, but not sure where to start?

In this week's bonus video, I am walking you through and reviewing Kae Gruner's business planning and strategy workbook for entrepreneurs, "Idea to Launch". ...

New Business STORY TIME.

Here’s how the story typically goes: the future entrepreneur starts with a brilliant idea on how to get rich, writes a business plan, and BOOM, launches a business.

It’s that simple, right? Not so much…

simmer down, hot sauce.

The process of taking a business idea out of your head and launching it into the market requires mindfulness, focus, strategy, and action. The process includes performing market research, product development, beta-testing, branding, marketing strategy, and mindful business planning (that is, if you want your business to succeed!)…

Sounds like a lot.

It can be. For a new entrepreneur, or like literally any normal human, these steps can quickly become overwhelming, especially since many of these steps take place simultaneously. This can lead to feeling unorganized, burdened by information overload, and just totally unmotivated to keep going. The good news is, it does NOT have to be that complicated. In fact, dare I say, it could be quite simple if you follow the right framework.

Go on…

Imagine you went to a business coach or lawyer to help get your new business idea off the ground. What are they going to do first? They would ask you questions! Loads of ‘em. Questions about your idea, your product or service concept, the industry, the market potential, your competitors, your potential customers…all to build a picture and a plan to help you build a strong foundation for your new business. That is the framework they’ll use. But once you know what questions are important to be answering, couldn’t you follow the framework yourself? At least to start, to save money?

I like saving money.

Me too, which is exactly why I created Start Up Heart Up and our DIY resources for everyday entrepreneurs. I believe whole-heartedly that everyday entrepreneurs deserve the chance to start a new business on their own time, at their own pace, and without paying an arm and a leg. There are so many basic business and legal questions that you can answer yourself & meaningful steps you can take without forking over your precious dollars. As a lawyer myself, I think it is critical for new entrepreneurs to seek personalized legal advice before taking any significant risks in their business. However, there are several basic legal and business questions you can answer yourself & actions you can take well before incurring pricey legal bills.
